Dr Pete Burnap is Professor of Data Science & Cybersecurity at Cardiff University. He is Director of Cardiff’s NCSC/EPSRC Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACE-CSR). He has led more than £10m of data-driven, innovative, and interdisciplinary research that broadly contributes to the field of Data Science and Cybersecurity (including industrial control systems and IoT), working closely with the Cardiff School of Social Sciences and School of Engineering. He is an applied computer scientist with a principal focus on data and computational methods to improve understanding, operations and decision making outside of academia. He is also leading AI for cybersecurity research at Airbus DTO and spent 3 years seconded to Airbus leading data science research for cybersecurity, transitioning two new products into the business.
