Integrity Checking at the Edge (ICE)
The ICE project studies water treatment systems and factories of the future. The study provides security and resilience for emerging technologies in critical infrastructures.
Cyberattacks on water systems and factories can impact public health and safety, as well as the economies of businesses, local authorities and governments. The project assesses the potential threats involved in interactions between edge devices, cloud platforms and legacy systems used in the manufacturing and water treatment sectors.
Advanced visualisation methods can map the flow of data expected in these interactions. The project considers human-machine interaction in conversation around pathways and interactions, taking inspiration from Explainable AI. The Cardiff Internet of Things (IoT) Testbed and Bristol Critical Infrastructures Testbed forms a core source for the technical analysis.
