Hub increases the size of its Impact team
The PETRAS Impact team has recently had an injection of new talent.
Joining the team are Mike Stead as Design Visualiser, based at Lancaster University and Sarah Hardy, Knowledge Exchange Co-ordinator, based at Warwick University.
Mike holds a Masters in Product Design and has worked for clients including the BBC and The Big Issue. He joined the HighWire Centre for Doctoral Training at Lancaster University in 2013 and gained a Masters in Research: Digital Innovation. He is currently completing his PhD thesis which builds upon Sterling’s notion of ‘spimes’ to produce a design manifesto for a sustainable IoT. As design visualiser for PETRAS, Mike is responsible for communicating the hub’s research outputs to audiences through a variety of visual media such as flyers, infographics, exhibition posters and web content.
Sarah brings to the hub a background in support roles within higher education, in which she has over 8 years experience, and has previously worked in Account Management in the IT sector. Sarah will be working to facilitate links between industry and government as well as establishing and maintaining communications and relationships between the hub and its partners. She will be helping to identify and track impact created by the projects in the hub, and supporting internal communications and collaboration.
Sarah and Mike have already joined the Impact team whose overall responsibility is to ensure the research undertaken in the hub reaches the largest possible audience. The team work both within the Hub, and externally with user partners and stakeholder groups, to facilitate widespread impact beyond academia in industrial and general public domains.
The entire hub welcomes Mike and Sarah and looks forward to working with them.
